83 US Festival DVD release
« on: November 20, 2013, 12:06:55 PM »
This contains vintage performances of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "The Electric Co." from a 1983 festival in California, along with performances by INXS, Stray Cats, etc. etc.  A digital version is already on iTunes and the DVD release is on Dec. 3.  See the SBS video here:

morgan1098, Thanks for the tip--

This is a nice release tho one can only wish we could see the complete U2 performance in full color and not the faded VHS boots everyone has. But Electric Co. is a classic rope climber.

Truly a remarkable U2 show among so many great ones that tour. And...oh Evangeline...no wonder Bono was sitting down to introduce SBS.  ;D

just watched the 2 U2 songs--make sure you purchase day 3!
There's talking heads during the songs, blah-blah, and there are edits, most notably when Bono is climbing up and down the rope ladder. Otherwise the SQ and video are good considering the age of the recordings.

OK, I watched the part with Angeline . . . . . even if you had said the name Angeline (rather than Evangeline) in your post . . . . . I still would not have known what you were referring to . . . . . because I have never seen this video footage.  Thanks for providing the link . . . . . . it was interesting to watch.   :)

Wow, Evangeline is... enthusiastic!  I hadn't seen that clip either.

Of all of the Electric Co. edits that exist this one has to be the worst!

I got this video for Christmas and was annoyed at the interview bits (non-U2 interview at that) being imposed over the footage of U2.  Both songs get cut away for the interview stuff, and then back.  Really annoying.

In May 2016 both of these songs were released on U2's Vevo site:

Just a coincidence or did a limitation/contract run out?
