There was a transition in the fan club earlier this year and I'm not sure how deep it went.  They cut out several old routes of communication, and seem to be disorganized now.  But they are still shipping from the same facility etc, so it's not a total change.  I just got a t-shirt from them yesterday (that i ordered in August) which came from the old address.  Only had to call twice to get it sent.  SIGH.

Renewed my U2.com sub today ahead of the Nov 19th renewal date. Still miffed that they announced the new vinyl gift just days after I renewed, and I was sent a second copy of the Northside Story. Never could get it switched. But I'm getting the vinyl now.

It's really frustrating.  I don't know why they can't fix this.  It really is a simple solution. 

1. Announce the gift on the same day each and every year.
2. If you cannot announce the gift at that time tell subscribers they will have to subscribe for an unknown future gift or give them the option to get the old.

That should fix it shouldn't it?

My sub expires tomorrow, so I guess I'll go ahead and resubscribe to get the discounted price. But dang.

I renewed on Nov. 14, a day before my subscription was set to expire. Sure enough, I checked today and it says that my current subscription now expires on 31 January 2017!

The first part of this post concerns Another Time, Another Place: Live At The Marquee (the two 10-inch Vinyl Record Live Set that U2 gave to U2.com subscribers).  My copy is still in the cardboard package it was shipped in.  I don't collect vinyl and I have finally find some free time to deal with some of my personal belongings (because I don't have space in the small apartment I just moved into).

I have listed Another Time, Another Place: Live At The Marquee for sale on Ebay.  I'm basically giving it away.  I listed the auction with a starting price of $7.  I listed the Buy It Now price as $10.  To keep things simple, the Ebay listing does not have a shipping fee.  The money I get (from the sale) should reimburse me for the shipping and for any fees that Ebay and PayPal charge me.  I removed my name and address from the shipping labels that are on the outside of the cardboard package.  I repeat - the cardboard package is still sealed.  I will take that original cardboard package and put it in another cardboard box to offer additional protection when I ship it.

The second part of this post concerns the 60-page hardcover book from the Box Set Edition of the No Line On The Horizon album.  This book is in perfect condition.  Right now, I am listing it on Ebay with the same price and shipping info as above.

Yeah mine shipped last week.  Canada Post is going on strike (potentially) on Saturday and I'm not feeling any of the panic i usually would with a fan club gift in the mail and an impending strike.  Then again one of these days I may actually get around to opening that book they sent... lol.

I haven't gotten mine yet either and I'm in the States. I think I got a "shipping soon" notification but not an actual shipping notice, though. I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

I actually got mine on July 6, and a friend of mine got his yesterday here in Halifax.  Looks like they are arriving in Canada anyway.  lol

Fail! My package arrived and it is... a second copy of Another Time, Another Place. It's technically what I asked for because I renewed before the new gift had been announced. Ugh. This happens every year. I have like four copies of From the Ground Up because of this issue.

Well if you don't want it, let me know! When I inquired about getting a replacement for my bent copy, they told me they were all out or something. Kind of annoying, honestly... I've ordered vinyl from dozens of people and companies over the years, and this was easily the worst packaged album I ever received.
