I wonder if anyone can help me. Are there any ways of getting hold of these albums, as they are not available on iTunes anymore. Are they likely to be re-issued, does anyone think?

Although I do have some of the "Unreleased And Rare" album on my new "Medium, Rare And Remastered" album, it didn't cover all the tracks. Same with "Live In Boston 1981", some of the tracks are on the "October" Remaster and "Sweetest Thing" CD Single, but not all.

Also, the versions of "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" and "The Ocean" on the "October" Remaster, are they the show opener versions, or the encore versions?

And while we're at it, 'Love Live from the Point Depot'.

I hope they reissue these on hard copy too. It would be a nice add to my collection but I never hold my breath with this sort of stuff.

Future fan club releases maybe?  I doubt that we'll see The Complete U2 back on iTunes now that Bono owns a chunk of Palm and the band is in bed with RIM.

I've been upgrading my iTunes library the last few weeks, and I really wish I had higher quality, DRM-free version of these things.

I've also been meaning to post a list of all the leftovers from The Complete U2 that have never been released digitally otherwise.  When I'm done updating my U2 tracks I'll get around to compiling a list.

they are the same version of the single but edited with fade in/out, so we have these versions:

11 O'Clock Tick Tock (Live from Boston 1981) ENCORE 5.02 Live From Boston 1981 2004
11 O'Clock Tick Tock (Live from Boston 1981) [Remastered Edit] ENCORE 4.57 October (Bonus) 2008
The Ocean (Live from Boston 1981) ENCORE 2.12 Fire 1981
The Ocean (Live from Boston 1981) 2.01 Live From Boston 1981 2004
The Ocean (Live from Boston 1981) ENCORE 2.19 Live From Boston 1981 2004
The Ocean (Live from Boston 1981) [Remastered Edit] ENCORE 2.15 October (Bonus) 2008

If you can track down this release, a bootleg called ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE, from Swingin' Pig Records, you can get the entire Boston 1981 concert in the most phenomenal sound quality I've ever heard from a bootleg disc: http://home19.inet.tele.dk/asmusu2/flom/anothertimeanotherplace.html

right, another time another place is an excellent bootleg but the itunes version is a bit more complete and has better sound even if lossy compressed... I also have the original warner bros radio show vinyl and it sounds much better (especially the hi end) than the bootleg which I think is sourced from a low gen tape (maybe from that vinyl)...
