Coming out of the Darkness...
« on: February 17, 2009, 08:25:11 PM »
Just a quick note, that I'm back (Aaron) and working on cleaning up the discography and getting caught up on all the content that is missing currently.  So far this week I've managed to finish refreshing the "By Song" listings, and cleaned up Albums, all three sections of Singles, as well as Digital Only releases.

I'm going to work on getting the top level listings fixed up before getting into individual discography entries.

Just wanted to let you know we're working on it...hopefully keeping ahead of it once we get caught up too...

If anyone sees anything I miss give me a shout here or by email!  Many thanks...I'll post here when I update a group of sections...

We should really get Carl to do something about your "Newbie" designation, though. :D

Meh, he's an admin here too.

If he can't figure it out, he deserves to be a newb.  ;D

Updated "By Songs" with the Crookers Remix...working on some other sections today.  Keep your eyes out for construction signs as you go through...

As for the newbie designation?!  I can live...

New pages for Get On Your Boots (the commercial single) and the Slane Castle fan club album from last year.  Working on the Ballad of Ronnie Drew next.  Tweaked the format a little bit - let me know what you guys think of the new 'image bar' across the top...I needed to do something different!!

Andrea Corr "Ten Feet High" now added to the discography - anyone got a copy of her song "Amazing" from the Japan only release?!  Also there was an acoustic version of "Shame on You" that you can buy on itunes if anyone is interested...missed that before...

Also added the "Ballad of Ronnie Drew".

Going to poke around on the "other projects" stuff for a bit...not much sense doing an entry for the album till i get some hard info and scans...

Aaron,

I didn't see this anywhere in discography. I checked by song, etc.

Another release that contains the album version of The Wanderer.

I just got this last week. Is it needed?

And now up "Live from Paris"...

As for the Johnny Cash stuff I'm content with just the Zooropa entry for now.  Eventually though I would list those, but it's so far down on the list right now its not funny...

Aaron,

A couple of HTML errors in the Ronnie Drew entry:

Quote
&quotIn the Name of the Father"

Like the image bar.

I also see you have a scan of the second Euro version of the GOYB single, the one with the video link.

Any idea what the format and quality of the video download is?  I ordered a copy from Germany but it probably won't be here for a week or so.

Things look good here in IE, but I'll check tomorrow from work in Firefox...Can you do a screen grab and send it my way so I know what you're seeing?

As for the Boots single?  The scans I have are of the Euro 2 track, not the one with the video...I'm waiting for my Euro source to get those to me...he should be sending me something tomorrow.  I also have a copy on order, but I don't expect to see it for a couple of weeks...

the video of the euro version (made in germany) of GOYB is a 67mb mp4 file, h.264, 640x360, aac stereo 48khz, file name: U2_get_on_your_boots_PUSH

I also downloaded the Linear film, same format, and noticed that the audio is distorted... the streaming play fine but the downloaded version has a really bad audio...
