| This CD was pressed in Europe, Mexico and Japan to promote
the
Best of 1990 - 2000 compilation as well as
the
Gangs of New York soundtrack on radio.
The version of the song found on this promo CD is identical to that found
on the Best Of compilation. This is the second promotional printing
of The Hands that Built America. The first pressing was of the soundtrack
version, and was pressed in limited numbers for the voting comittees
at the Oscar and Golden Globe awards. There are no current plans
for a commercial release of this single.
One version of the promotional singles contained a slightly different
mix of Hands. Labelled "The Edit + 2.5 Varispeed" mix, this version of
the song is an edit of the version featured on the Best of 1990 - 2000
but is also sped up slightly, and is in a higher key than the regular version.
The keyboards at the beginning are edited out, and the track fades earlier
than the album version. |
