The Electric Burma concert in Dublin June 18th 2012, was confirmed several months ago, getting a DVD/Blu Ray release. This is finally, one step closer to reality, as last night an "edited highlights" version was broadcast on Irelands "RTE 1" TV Channel.

a sample video from the Tv screening is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVgAxmYNG84

For any fans of "Walk On", there is a beautiful and different version with Damien Rice playing guitar and singing a verse on his own(The "Home" verse) and adding backing vocals. The day of the concert, Damien Rice filled in for the Edge, as his mother had passed away some days earlier. The other Bono content, includes "One" (also with Damien Rice) and Bono leads the all star cast into "I Shall Be Released" & "Get Up Stand Up".

For those who can access RTE's online player, you can see the 53 minute tv highlights show for the next 3 weeks(until January 18th) here:

"Walk On" starts at 31:13

An amazing concert, full of different music from classical to rock, pop and rap. Poetry readings and tributes to Aung San Suu Kyi.

Interesting. Worldwide relase or just in Ireland?

I have an RTÉ Player app on my phone, so I'll see if I can check this out.

I would have thought a worldwide release as its appeal will be far reaching, but this remains to be confirmed.
