Ok, can someone out there confirm if this is an genuine U2/Island release or not? I've seen it on E-bay and places like eil.com but it's never been listed on www.u2wanderer.org as a 'promo' which makes me think it isn't.

Anyone know for sure one way or the other?

There was another thread on this several months back.

I bought a copy of this, and as far as I can tell it's an official item.  The quality is certainly lacking, though.

I sent some scans to Aaron but they were never posted.  Not sure if he forgot or was waiting for confirmation.

Record Collector Magazine sure seems to think it's legit.  They listed it in their recent Top 60 (was it 60?  I think it was 60.) U2 collectibles list.  This particular disc was somewhere near the very bottom - something like #58 or #59 if I remember right.

That being said, could RC be wrong?  Absolutely.

:::::: Of course this is an Original Universal Music Colombia CD Promo. Those items are also made in South America, not just USA and Europe.

I got mine for less than $40 USD with a Mexican seller. Then , he sold a lot of them above the $80 USD.

This cd was widely discussed at the U2 collectors club (yahoo) veredict was: Official.
