U2Songs.Com - The New Site.

Hi All --

Just wanted you to be the first to know.  We launched the new site this morning. And while it is still under construction, we felt we were at a good spot to start using it, and to start building it in the public eye.

You can view the new site at http://www.u2songs.com/ - it is live right now.  Later today there will be a more formal announcement about the move.  You'll understand when you see it.

This is where we have been building content - this is where the lyrics have been going, this is where the discography updates have been going.  It's time to share that.  Yes we have some images to scan and upload yet, but we are getting there. 

Wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for supporting us over the years.  And a bigger thank you to everyone who works with me on these things.  We've got even bigger plans, and not everything has been made public at this point.  So thank to all for sticking with us.

Just now, I clicked on the Wanderer News link in the website favorites list on my Internet browser.  I am just now discovering this news!  A week late for me.  Somehow, I missed it last week.  When I read the The Last Story (Moving to u2songs.com) article, I was confused because I don't see any names on the page.  It uses terms like "I" and "We".  I don't see Aaron or Brad or Carl anywhere on the article's page.  I'm missing a few screws upstairs so I guess it's ok that I was confused.

I understand there are still things you are working on.  I know you have real careers and personal lives.  I can only imagine the technical skills and attention to detail this project requires.  Getting it right is more important than just throwing something together.  Thank you very much for staying committed to improving the website all these years.  I will now add u2songs.com to my website favorites list.

Well I can sign the article.  There's seven of us working on the new site in various roles and capacities.  Carl set up much of the backbone.  Harry is helping with some of the technical side now.  Mike (slaneman here) is continuing to toil away on lyrics.  Me, Brad, Aaron G, Don and George are working on the discography side of things.  Oh and Chris Jenkins is doing a lot of writing for us as well.  Some of those original news pieces about the tour are his.

The forum is staying here.  If you click on the forum link at u2songs.com it will still bring you here.  We will let you know if that changes in any way.
Also my email is staying the same - so those that use the u2wanderer.org one can continue to do so.

Mike (slaneman here) is continuing to toil away on lyrics.

Great progress being made! I believe there's less than a thousand songs remaining for me to transcribe! Thankfully that big new raise from Aaron assures me that my grand kids can make Harvard next year.

LOL.  Less than a thousand?    Last I checked there were only about 150 listed with "to follow" - mostly the stuff from Wolfgang's Vault.  I do have one more show to add songs there - and some obscure edits.  I'm pretty sure it's under 200 total.

We're still working away at it.  Really have to stop and say thanks to Carl for setting up most of it.  The basic structure of the whole site was his to start and we couldn't have done it without him.  Slowly filling in the content.  In between life getting in the way.
