Leaked clips of disco & wakeup from 1996
« on: October 19, 2008, 11:50:53 AM »
I have the leaked clips of Discotheque & Wake Up Dead Man from 1996. However I read on Wikipedia that Discotheque was 30 seconds, while mine (disco.mp3) is 16 seconds? Wake Up Dead Man (wakeup.mp3) is 20 seconds.

Could someone please verify? Does anyone remember if it was released as a WAV file as well?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discoth%C3%A8que_(song)
"A 30-second sample of "Discothèque" was leaked on the internet on October 26, 1996."

FYI - The two clips came from 'Pop Promo (Island PN7-003)'

Cheers,

As I recall it Martin from Hungary released only two wave files. I can't seem to find them anymore so if anyone has them feel free to contact me via PM.

As for the two tracks you have, I am very confident that they came from my web site "Expect Nothing". I had a section devoted to some 75 screen captures from the VHS tape that Martin sent to me. I also offered the following in audio, and the song lengths match yours. I'm not sure why the dates of my real audio files are from 1995 but the dates of the mp3s seem alright.

12/11/1995  02:20 PM            42,844 disco.ra
12/11/1995  02:21 PM            76,452 piano.ra
12/11/1995  02:24 PM            80,764 spike.ra
12/26/1995  04:19 AM           499,964 u2epk.ra
12/11/1995  02:27 PM            51,012 wakeup.ra
12/11/1995  02:28 PM            51,012 wakeup2.ra
11/25/1996  12:55 PM           237,111 disco.mp3
11/25/1996  12:58 PM           425,453 piano.mp3
11/25/1996  12:58 PM           448,493 spike.mp3
11/25/1996  12:56 PM         3,505,865 u2epk.mp3
11/25/1996  12:57 PM           282,459 wakeup.mp3
11/25/1996  12:56 PM           283,191 wakeup2.mp3

The whole set of images and audio were later archived on interference.com along with my Pop Invaders JavaScript game. Oh, the memories. :-)

Update: I have uploaded these files to sendspace. Not sure if link can be share here but PM me if you need it.
