A friend directed me to a strange site for a band called The Australian U2 show. A tribute band infact, and a rather terrible one at that.

My friend says "this band is great, i saw them live, they are better than the real thing!"

I say: "this is nothing more than a bad joke."

Though i don't like tribute bands in general, I must say I was surprised by the effort these guys put into it, and the length they go to in their attempts to emulate U2 to a tee.

Some of the images are pure comedy imho, and there is a list of recent and upcoming gig dates available for those wanting to see them live. All of their shows seem to be in the Melbourne Metropolitan area, though, and though I live in Northern NSW I won't be rushing to my car to see them.

There's a few mp3 tracks available for download, but I personally do not recommend them, unless you're just curious or if you find that funny.

Anyway, have a laugh or whatever. Discuss.

yes, I've heard them, when I in the queue for tickets.

People say they are great, awesome..blah, blah, blah. Personally I don't like tribute band either and, I went a bit further --  I think people who put too much effot in a tribute band is pathetic.

Don't get me wrong, I agree it's a fun thing to do, and a good way to practice music skills, but it is not the way that a musician should go as a career.

Just see a couple of pictures...urgh... -_-||||
