OTHER NOTES |
Released to radio in January of 2001, Walk On was only commercially
released at that time in Canada. It was released as a promotional video
in the US and Canada. In Europe, Australia, and Japan, Stuck
in a Moment was released at this time instead. The b-sides of
the singles for Walk On in Canada and the b-sides for the singles for the
European and Australian release of Stuck in a Moment
were the same.
The release of this single in North America was timed to coincide with
U2's wins at the 2001 Grammy Awards for the single Beautiful
Day. The promotional campaign for this single included posters
mentioning U2's nominations for the Grammy awards.
In the Fall of 2001, Stuck in a Moment /
Walk
On were released in the opposite countries from the Spring release.
These singles featured similar covers to the Spring releases but different
b-sides, and different versions of Walk On than had appeared on the Spring
release.
Walk On was the song used to close concerts on 2001's Elevation tour.
U2 also performed the song on the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" television
broadcast, and Walk On was released on the accompanying CD
release. |
