Is it just me or does Ordinary Love sound like a Coldplay song?

The new Breathe is interesting, I like they essentially covered their own song in a very different style. The simpler arrangement fits the lyrics. Not sure I'd want it over the original, but it's nice to have them side by side. The ending doesn't quite fit though.

Does anyone know where I can hear the new Breathe version? Doesn't seem to be up on YouTube yet and I couldn't play the record even if I did manage to get one from Australia. Can someone upload it to YouTube without it being copyright?

u2.com have a video up of someone putting the vinyl on a turntable, and about 50s of the song.  That'd be official as it gets.

The full thing is on youtube, but not from an official source:

My brother-in-law snagged me a copy at an indie store in Lubbock, TX.  He said there were a few copies and he was the only person who snagged one.  I thought that might be because Lubbock isn't really a U2 type of town, but based on other reports here it appears that this isn't a hugely desirable release.  Oh well, I'm glad I got one.  :)

The soundtrack version is now available on iTunes. It's identical to the single except for a couple of extra seconds of silence at the end. I suppose I'll have to buy the movie DVD now as the version that plays over the credits is purportedly different.

Apparently they really are using this cover in the UK:

I definitely prefer the US version:

Interested in buying the Ordinary Love 10-inch vinyl single released by U2?

Update:  I was able to sell it.   :D

Interesting that they got Paul Epworth to do this.  It's really pretty similar to the original version, just with different beats. I like the cold ending rather than the fade, though.

I don't suppose the remix is available anywhere in better quality that 128 kbps MP3?

Not that i'm aware of.  Looking at promo cds and the like but nothing yet.  Except for the "For Your Consideration" CD that was sent to the Oscar / Globes judges - but that one clearly labeled "Danger Mouse" as a producer, and made no mention of Epworth so I think it's the version we have from the soundtrack.

Will let you know if i track down a source...

Sounds pretty good for a low-quality MP3, FWIW, even on headphones. But there's definitely a couple of spots that have smeary compression artifacts.

I was hoping the fan club would offer this as a download, too, but nothing so far.

When U2.com hosted their own audio streams the bitrate was usually 256 or 320, but unfortunately they seem to have moved to Soundcloud.
