New U2 song: "Ordinary Love"

Oh, and based on viewings of the movie, it appears "Ordinary Love" is produced by Danger Mouse, and that there is another snippet of U2 music in the film that may not be part of "Ordinary Love".  The reviewer commented about the sound of African chanting over a riff from Edge's guitar.  But it doesn't appear to be listed on the soundtrack either, so maybe just a brief instrumental piece (or perhaps something not even U2 related?)

Have to say I am really looking forward to getting a copy of this on RSD, I want to hear and like some new material, this has the possibility of being something great, this could finally bring U2 and Bono especially that award they want and are missing.

Ha!  Yes, I got it at the Hoffman forum, which usually isn't a great source for U2 news.  In fact, it's usually a place for U2-bashing.

I also just got an e-mail from U2.com with a link to the video, which is apparently going to "premiere" later today...

I was able to download the U2.com video to my phone using an app called "Free Video Downloader Plus." I'll have to wait until I get home to make an MP3 of it.

In case anyone is interested, the Facebook video has a bit higher quality audio than the U2.com version. It's also 720p video compared to only 320p, though oddly the U2.com file is actually slightly larger. The Facebook 720p version looks just fine, even blown up on my 55" TV.

Audio: AAC, 128 kbps

Facebook version
Video: H.264, 1280x720, 24 fps, 1488 kbps

Hopefully they will put this on their official YouTube page soon. The audio and video bitrates are usually a bit higher.

Got it. Just have to eliminate all but one of the five numbers in the URL to get the stream you want.

As I suspected, the audio bitrate is a little better on YouTube, 192 kbps.

The 1080p version from U2.com still has the highest video bitrate.
