This one actually solves the puzzle.  In the images listed above it says that LYRICS and VOCALS are by THE EDGE.

Since it is 100% clear to me that The Edge from U2 did not do the vocals here.  And it is clearly stating that it's vocals not just a misunderstanding over who wrote the lyrics, I'll chalk this up to someone other than the Edge. Once again wikipedia (in English anyway) is wrong.

Anybody need a Godzilla Island album or single?!  :)

To get the information above, you made a bit of a sacrifice and paid good hard-earned money for the single and the album.

In a very disconnected way, it reminds of what Mon Mothma said before the Battle Of Endor (fought between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire):

Many Bothans died to bring us this information.      ;D

LOL.  No worries.  Just the latest in a run of costs brought to me by the U2 collecting bug.  At least we were able to get an answer to the question by seeing inside the booklet.  If I'd bought it and we were still questioning I'd be more upset.  It just adds fuel to my "I hate wikipedia" fire.  Thanks wikipedia for telling me it was The Edge who did this release...he didn't!

Bothans.  :)  I am a Star Wars nut, so thanks for talking my language lol.
