The book will be written by Dylan Jones who has been given complete access, including behind the scenes at Glastonbury 2011.

Author
DYLAN JONES is editor of British GQ and has won the Editor of the Year Award four times during his tenure. Amazon in the USA has an entry but currently lists it as "Out of Print - Limited Availability"

The title "From the Ground Up" is an obvious play on last year's movie "From the Sky Down".  I like it.

What tracks will be included in the U2.com edition? Let the speculation begin.  ;D

No doubt they would be the tracks that weren't selected for U22(23). Which I would like, especially those rare ones that a lot of us were disappointed to miss out on. But doubtful that they'll release all remaining songs from that list.

To slaneman and u2hmtmkmkm:
I'm confused.  What do U2.com and tracks have to do with a book release?
Please explain.

U2.com has announced next years subscription gift would include a special edition of the book and further songs from the U2 360 Tour on a disc accompanying that book. The full gift will be announced in October so expect lots of speculation until then.

From u2.com:

From The Ground Up, the official photo book of the U2360° tour, is set for publication in just a couple of months.

This handsome hardback title, featuring photography from Ralph Larmann and text by Dylan Jones, will be published in October and is available to preorder from this weekend.

For anyone who treasures their memories of the extraordinary tour that was  U2360°, this book captures the period like no other.

If you're a U2.com subscriber (or considering it) we're delighted to announce that we'll be including a special edition of From The Ground Up as part of our 2012/2013 subscription offer.

Featuring the same text and photography, this edition of the book comes with a little something extra...  more exclusive live tracks from U2360°.

That's all we can reveal for now - full details of our new subscription package will be announced in October.

In the meantime, if you haven't got a copy of the limited-edition double live CD, U22, you've still got a few more weeks to to take advantage of the current subscription offer.

Aaron, thanks for the detailed answer.  If a book and CD is part of the subscription offer, I wonder if the subscription price will be higher than the $50 they charged previously.

Good question. I would imagine that they would put product over price on some editions. It is common for other bands to create exclusive packaging. It will probably only be marginal differences.

I half expect the fan club book to be paperback in order to lower the cost.

Good point.  If a subscription renewal remains $50, I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend that much money just for some additional live tracks.  I'm not interested in the book or all the other stuff that comes with the subscription.  The book would mean more to me if I had attended a 360 tour concert, but I couldn't get a ticket.

Here's a nice interview with the photographer, Ralph Larmann, done by U2tour.de...

Some camera talk which Carl might find interesting...

Not to bite the hand that feeds us, but how come we haven't seen a video in English by now too? Someone usually gets a copy or the info leaks out by now but I've noticed it's been pretty quiet on this front with this subscription offer.
