It's called lossy compression for a reason. Converting to AAC (M4A) absolutely irreversibly compromises the sound quality.

Try using Apple Lossless; it will at least cut the file sizes in half without losing any quality.

Okay the .wav downloads that came with the uber box have necessitated my foray into understanding decompression etc. What I want to know is, if I convert the .wav files into .m4a with iTunes, thus making the files smaller, if I then convert those same .m4a files back to .wav, will I be back to the same uncompressed (i.e. same quality) files that the original .wavs were? Or does the compression destroy some of the quality that a reversal won't bring back? I ask because they're too large to sync to my phone and it takes up way too much space on there anyway, but I'd also like the option of listening to the .wav version in all its uncompressed glory without having to keep two versions of the same songs on my computer.

You cannot uncompress m4a and restore quality.  The information is lost.  m4a is a "lossy" format, meaning information has been lost.

I just received a follow-up email from Universal Music regarding the replacement Sydney DVD. They sent me a UPS tracking number and it is supposed to ship today.

Not quite as quick as they originally claimed, but still lightning fast by Live Nation standards.  ;D

Does anyone know what is happening with stock levels of the Super Deluxe Box Set? No where is selling it new now, and I need it for a Christmas present. It wasn't limited edition was it?

Someone on the Interference forum reported that their replacement DVD was actually Disc 2 of the original Zoo TV Live in Sydney set.   :o

Just got mine. Unfortunately this is true.  :o

Maybe they contracted this out to Live Nation after all.

This is hilarious. Maybe it's Universal's fault since they just bought the EMI catalog and they're in shock.

Perhaps the next replacement might be a Coldplay video.  ;D  or a Beatles...

If anyone ends up with a Zoo TV Disc 2 and would like to unload it, I'll take it off your hands.  I never got the original set.  :)

With a whole 4 DVDs of visual content in this set, is everything from the original "Achtung Baby: The Videos, the Cameos, and a Whole Lot of Interference from Zoo TV" VHS included?

If memory serves, there were odd bits in between the videos on the original VHS. Are these included then? It is just the "Until The End.." video that isn't (which at least was on "The Best Of 1990 - 2000" DVD)?

Actually, that's incorrect.  The video of "Until the End of the World" on the BEST OF 1990-2000 DVD is a live version.  The VHS/LaserDisc of "...Whole Lot of Interference..." is the only place to find the concept video, sadly.
