I think the NYT had been holding off on doing a piece on it. But this was there this morning. A scathing review on nearly every front, though the music gets off pretty easy in this piece.
Obviously a lot of the criticism is not directed squarely at Bono and the Edge who are presumably little involved with the show besides having put together the music. But this critic not only criticizes the show as it has progressed so far, but suggests that even if the kinks were worked out the project is not salvagable as anything ultimately innovative or worthwhile.
Needless to say an interesting chapter in U2-related history.
