Alright some Spanish lessons
Irish style
Uno, dos, tres, catorce

Lights go down it’s dark
The jungle is your head, can’t rule your heart
A feeling so much stronger than a thought
Your eyes are wide and though your soul it can’t be bought
Your mind can wander

Hello, hello
Hola
We’re at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
It's everything I wish I didn't know
You give me something I can feel

The night is full of holes
As bullets rip the sky of ink with gold
They sparkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance
At least they know

I can't stand the beats
I'm asking for the check
Girl with crimson nails
Has Jesus 'round her neck
Swinging to the music
Swinging to the music
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Hello, hello
Hola
We’re at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
It's everything I wish I didn't know
You, give me something I can feel

C’mon Eric
Rock, rock, rock ‘n’ roll
Checkmated
Hours of fun
Your man is all

All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
All of this, all of this can be yours
Just give me what I want
And no one gets hurt

Hello, hello
Hola
We’re at a place called Vertigo
Dond' esta
It’s everything I wish I didn’t know
Loves go down
Can feel your love teaching me how, how
Your love is teaching me how, how
How to kneel
Kneel

I know it’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it
Yes I do
I know it’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it
Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah
Yeah-yeah-yeah
Yeah

Rock, rock, rock ‘n’ roll high school

Right, where we going?
Queens?
Mmm, Yonkers
Brooklyn
Manhattan
Madison Square Garden

Oh-oh-oh…

Oh-oh-oh, Magnificent
Oh-oh-oh, Magnificent

I was born
I was born to be with you

In this space and time
After that
And ever after I haven't had a clue
Only to break rhyme
This foolishness
Could leave a heart black and blue

Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh

Only love
Only love can leave such a scar

But only love
Only love can heal such a mark

I was born
I was born to sing for you

I didn’t have a choice
But to lift you up
And sing whatever songs you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb
My first cry it was a joyful noise
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh

Only love
Only love can leave such a mark
But only love
Only love can heal such a scar

Justify till we die
You and I will magnify
Oh-oh-oh, Magnificent

Magnificent
Oh…

(So we slip, sometimes slide)
(Edge go by)

La-da-da-da
La-da-da-da-da-da-da-da

Only love
Only love can heal such a scar

But only love
Only love unites our hearts

Justify till we die
You and I will magnify
Oh-oh-oh, Magnificent

Magnificent

Magnificent
Magnificent

This is a very special venue for so many reasons for this band
And for a lot of you in the city, too. So, we had to make something very special happen tonight, and ah… this is the song we wished we’d written
It’s a Bruce Springsteen song so we’d like to ask him to come out here
It’s also a Patti Smith song, we’d like to ask her to come out here

Because The Night
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes
Sung by: Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith

[Patti]
Take me now baby here as I am
Pull me close, try and understand
Desire is hunger is the fire I breathe
Love is a banquet on which we feed

[All]
Come on now try to understand
The way I feel when I'm in your hands
Take my hand come undercover
They can't hurt you now, can't hurt you now
Can't hurt you now

Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

[Bruce]
Have I doubt when I'm alone
Love is a ring, the telephone
Love is an angel disguised as lust
Here in our bed ‘til the morning comes

[All]
Come on now try and understand
The way I feel under your command
Take my hand as the sun descends
They can't hurt/touch you now, they can't hurt you now
Can't hurt you now

Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

With love we sleep
With doubt the vicious circle
Turn and burns
Without you I cannot live, forgive
The yearning, burning
I believe it's time, too real to feel

[Patti]
Touch me now, touch me now
Touch me now, hey

[All]
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

[Bruce]
Because tonight there are two lovers
If we believe in the night we trust
[Patti
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

[Bono]
Oh-oh…

[Patti]
?
If we believe in the night we trust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us

Because the night
Because the night
Because the night

[Bono]
Patti Smith
[Patti]
Thank you everybody

I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes

[Bono=Normal; Bruce Springsteen=Italics; Both=Bold]

Alright, thinking here in rock ‘n’ roll’s great cathedral that is Madison Square Garden, thinking in this moment about all the pilgrims, all the pioneers that got us all here, the saints and the heretics, the poets and the punks, that now make up the Hall of Fame
It’s a dangerous thing, this business of building idols, but at least rock ‘n’ roll is not at its best about worshiping sacred cows, it’s about the thousands of voices gathered in one great unwashed congregation like tonight
For a lot of us here, rock ‘n’ roll just means just one word…liberation, political, sexual, spiritual—liberation (that’s what it means)

Let’s have some fun with that

(Here we go)

Oh…

I have climbed the highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run, I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
Burning like a fire
I was burning inside her

I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone, hey

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

(Come on now, take it to the church, here we go)
The genius of Roy Bittan

I believe in the kingdom come, kingdom come
Then all the colors will, all the colors
Bleed into one, bleed into one
Bleed into one, bleed into one
But yes I’m still running, yeah I’m still running

You broke the bonds and / You broke the bonds
Loosed the chain, loosed the chain
Carried the cross, carried the cross
Took the shame, took my shame
You took my shame, took my shame
You know I believe it, oh you know I believe it

I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

Mister I ain’t a boy / I still
No I’m a man / Haven’t found
And I believe in a promised land / What I’m looking for

Mister I ain’t a boy / No I still
No I’m a man / Haven’t found
And I believe in a promised land / What I’m looking for
No I still haven’t found what I’m looking for

Roy Bittan, Bruce Springsteen
That’s the kind of night it is

Here’s some Irish dance music

Mysterious Ways
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes

John take a walk with your sister the moon
Let her pale light in to fill up your room
You've been living underground, eating from a can
You've been running away from what you don't understand, love

She's slippy, you’re sliding down
Is she gonna be there when ya hit the ground

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
She moves in mysterious ways
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
She moves in mysterious ways, oh love

John take a dive with your sister in the rain
Let her talk about the things you cannot explain
To touch is to heal, to hurt is to steal
If you wanna kiss the sky better learn how to kneel
On your knees, boy

She's the wave that turned the tide
She sees a man inside the child

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
She moves in mysterious ways
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
She moves in mysterious ways

Oh love, oh love / It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright
Lift my days, light up my nights, love

Where Is The Love / One
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes
U2 and The Black-Eyed Peas (BEP)

[Bono=Normal; BEP=Italics]

Huh
Yep
That’s a groove
Hands up
For The Black-Eyed Peas
Give it up, give it up, give it up

Ho-oh, yeahs, jump, c’mon, etc,…

What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin’ like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world’s addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we tryin’ to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin’
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only got love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love and to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin’
Would you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
People got me, got me questioning
Where is the love

Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love, love, love

Check it out
New York

It just ain't the same, always unchanged
New days are strange, is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gasses filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really gone
So I could ask myself, yo, what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on giving in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respecting each other, you deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug and
If you never know truth you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, I don't know
Where's the truth, y'all, I don't know
Where's the love

People killin’, people dyin’, sing
Children hurt and you hear them cryin’
Would you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cos people got me, got me questioning
Where is the love

Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Love, love
Where is the love
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm getting older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us following the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', hey, whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
I still wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
Gotta keep my faith alive till lovin’

People killin’, people dyin’
Children hurt and you hear them cryin’
Would you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cos people got me, got me questioning
Where is the love
Where is the love

Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love, love, love
Lovey-dovey-dovey-dove

We only got, one love, one love
We only got, one love, one love
We only got, one love, one love
That’s all we got, one love, one love
We only got, one love, one love
We only got, one love, one love
We only got, one love, one love
That’s all we got, one love, one love
Love, love, love, love

One life with each other
Sisters and brother
One life but we’re not the same
We get to carry each other, carry each other

One love, one love, one love, one love
One love, one love, one love / Put one finger in the air for love and music, ya’all
One love
One finger in the air for unity
If you love music, put one finger in the air
And make some noise
Make some noise
/ Two fingers, for peace

One love, one love, one love
One love, one love, one love, one love

Black-Eyed Peas
Thank you

Will.i.am’s in the house, ya’all
Fergie in the house, ya’all
Now let’s try something a little  dangerous and special

Stuck In A Moment
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes
U2 and Mick Jagger

[Bono=Normal; Mick=Italics; Together=Bold]
Edge=Italics for his regular verse

Special song
This man will make this a special song

I'm not afraid of anything in this world
There's nothing you can throw at me
That I haven't already heard
I'm just trying to find a decent melody
A song that I can sing in my own company

I never thought you were a fool
But darling, look at you, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight
These tears are going nowhere, baby

You've got to get yourself together
You've got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it
Don't say that later will be better
Now you're stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it

I will not forsake the colors that you bring
But the nights you filled with fireworks
Did they leave you with nothing?
I’m so enchanted by a light you brought to me
I still listen through your ears
Through your eyes I can see

And you are such a fool
To worry like you do, oh-oh

You know it's tough and you can never get enough
Of what you don't really need now, baby, my, oh my

You've got to get yourself together
You've got stuck in a moment and now you can't get out of it
Oh Lord, look at you now
Stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it

I was unconscious, half asleep
The water is warm till you discover how deep
I wasn't jumping, for me it was a fall
It's a long way down to nothing at all, oh-oh

You've got to get yourself together
You've got stuck in a moment and you can't get out of it

Don't say that later will be better
Now you're stuck in a moment and you can't get out

And if the night runs over
And if the day won't last
And if your way should falter
Along that stony pass

And if the night runs over / And if the night runs over, yeah
And if the days won't last / And if the days won’t last
And if your way should falter
Along that stony pass
It's just a moment, it’s just a moment
It's just a moment, oh
It's just a moment
This time shall pass

Thank you, U2
Thank you, Mick

Beautiful Day
Madison Square Garden
New York, New York
2009-10-30
Source: iTunes

The heart is a bloom
It shoots up through the stony ground
But there’s no room
No space to rent in this town

When you’re out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
But the traffic is stuck
And you’re not moving anywhere

You thought you’d found three friends
To take you out of this place / Always
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace / Always

It’s a beautiful day
The sky falls you feel like
A beautiful day

You’re on the road
But you’ve got no destination
You’re in the mud
In the maze of her imagination

You love this town
Even if that doesn’t ring true
You’ve been all over
And it’s been all over you / Always

It’s a beautiful day
Don’t let it get away
Beautiful day, oh

You can touch me
Take me to that other place
You can teach me, love
I know I’m not a hopeless case, yeah-yeah

See the world in green and blue
Jon Wenner right beside ya
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleet clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oilfields at first light and
See the bird with the leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out, oh

It was a beautiful day
Don’t let it get away
Beautiful day, oh

You can touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me now, love
I know I’m not a hopeless case

And what you don’t have you don’t need it now
What you don’t know you could feel it somehow
What you don’t have you don’t need it now
Don’t need it now
Beautiful day

This is the city
And there’s no other place, right now
God keep us safe
On this beautiful day
Got soul, you got soul, you got soul
Soul, sing it
Soul (x 7)

Take me now, baby, here as I am
From a sign I see
Desire is the hunger is the fire I breathe

And love is a banquet on which we feed
Love is a banquet on which we feed
Love is a blanket
(God, blanket)

Thank you
Thanks a lot
Thank you to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for having us
Very humbled to be on stage with these truly great artists
For a garage band like this
Thank you to Jon
Thank you to you, James
