Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)-iTunes Version 1.0
Bono, Jay-Z, Rihanna
Studio Version

Spoken female voice-Haitian-Creole(?)

(J)
When the sky falls and the earth quakes
We gon put this back together we won’t break
When the sky falls and the earth quakes
We gon put this back together we won’t break

Sak pasé, my Port au Princes
My Haitian Gods and all of my Princesses
Our condolences as you fightin’ against this
We’re right by your side, while we tryin’ to make sense of this
Heavenly Father, help us see through these problems
And for those that left, accept them into your garden
See here’s my theory, the country’s already starvin’
So we sacrifice many to shed light on all of them
God please pardon, I speak from my heart
It’s the only way I can see this tragedy befall on them
So let’s get involved with them, hand to hand with them
Arm to arm with them, till they get strong again
When the sky falls

(B/R)
Not tomorrow
Can’t wait until tomorrow

Hai…Haiti a mi amor / Haitianna
Haiti mon amour
Not gonna leave you stranded
Oh no
Oh no
Oh no

(J)
When the sky falls and the earth quakes
We gon put this back together we won’t break
When the sky falls and the earth quakes
We gon put this back together we won’t break

We learned from the past, New Orleans was flooded
So we know we just can’t rely on the government
We under the rubble again, here we go rumbling when
When we gon catch a break, my friend lost his mother and then
(B)And then
(J)Carline lost her uncles and them
Buried with no caskets, they just put covers on them
And the tears fall, and we fight back
Story ain’t done, it can’t end like that
Nah, not like this, tomorrow’s survivors gonna carry on your name
You live on inside us, your memory’s alive with us
You inspired us, to rebuild this country, you just guide us

(B/R)
Not tomorrow
Can’t wait until tomorrow

Hai…Haiti a mi amor / Haitianna
Haiti mon amour
Not gonna leave you stranded
Hai-ee-ay-ee-ay-ee-ay-ay
Not gonna leave you stranded
Oh no, oh no

(B)
It’s not the angels that are on their way
It’s not the bells of Sainte Trinité
The people waitin’, position vacant / (Oh-no-no-no-no-no)
For hands to help, not just to pray / Oh-no-no-no-no-no
Oh-no-no-no-no-no
Oh-no-no-no-no-no

(B/R)
Hai…Haiti a mi amor / Haitianna
Haiti mon amour
Not gonna leave you stranded
Hai-ee-ay-ee-ay-ee-ay-ay / Haiti mon amour
Not gonna leave you stranded, never gonna leave
Oh no, never gonna leave
Oh no, alone, alone

 (R)                                   (Chorus)
Never gonna leave / Haiti va s’élever (Haiti will rise)
Never gonna leave / Tu vas te relever (You'll meet)
Alone / Nous nous éléverons (We will raise)
Alone / Ensemble, ensemble, ensemble (Together, together, together)

(J)
We gon put this back together we won’t break / Not gonna leave you stranded
We gon put this back together we won’t break
We gon put this back together we won’t break / Not gonna leave you stranded
We gon put this back together we won’t break
We gon put this back together we won’t break / Not gonna leave you stranded
We gon put this back together we won’t break
We gon put this back together we won’t break

Notes:
Don't know who speaks the opening Haitian or what she's saying but the rest should be accurate
Ya gotta love digital releases with no documentation
French translation very rough from google

Nice. Especially the translations.  ;D

Pretty sure I hear "arm in arm with them." I'll have to give it another listen.

I'm not sure.  But in French "A" can be a conjunction of "Have"

So "Haitia mi amour" may be "Haiti a mi amour" meaning roughly "Haiti has my love"?  I would think "Haiti ont mi amour" would be more proper (they have) but "Haiti a" would be "Haiti has" like "She has"...

Anyway that's the way I've been hearing it with my limited high school french..."Haiti a mi amour"...

Yep--I corrected it to "Haiti a mi amour". My bad-- ;)

However I still hear "arm to arm" though it's much clearer in the live version.

But my iTunes counter had 37 listens on the studio version (before my USB external crashed last week and I lost all my iTunes library and 500 gigs of U2 folders...)...so I ain't going to be re-listening...oh...and my laptop is currently got a bug and not usable (with all my lyrics from the last 6 months...)    >:(
