bono speech in osaka 1989-12-01...
« on: October 17, 2009, 07:35:13 AM »
can someone help me with a transcription of what bono says before and during people get ready in osaka 1989-12-01?
I tried to do my best listening it carefully, this is what I understand... I'd like to know how if I guessed at list one word :)

--before--
Let me just tell you some things here... ????? it's my place...
But is this a rock'n'roll concert? Is this not a disco concert? Is this not an heavy metal concert?
At a U2 concert people do not push each other around... I don't care if you bought the front row or the back row... we're all the same in here... including the band... alright?
The only difference is.. ???????? very rich... It's a big difference...

--during--
Anyone want to play my guitar?
Do you want to play my guitar?
Listen guy... one more piece of shit out of you and you're out of here... I don't care if you paid the front row...

...and what he say during people get ready in osaka 1989-11-28?

?????? don't touch our fucking audience ??????

People Get Ready
Osaka Castle Hall
Osaka, Japan
1989-12-01

Ok
Let me just tell you some things here
Not that it’s my place
But this is a rock ‘n’ roll concert
This is not a disco concert
This is not a heavy metal concert
And on a U2 concert people do not push each other around
I don’t care if you bought the front row or the back row
We’re all the same in here including the band, alright?
Only difference is, you-all have made us-all very rich
(Is that a difference, Bono?) –sounds like Adam speaking
I’m sorry, that’s a big difference
Sorry bout that, big difference

I think what we need right now, here…
We need a love song…
Know what I’m saying?

If you can’t live together in here, you cannot live together out there, oh let me tell ya

People get ready there’s a train a’coming
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, it opens doors and borders
You don’t need no ticket you just get on board

Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh

There is still hope for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind just to save his own
God have mercy, I’m a hopeless sinner
But I know there’s a higher place behind the kingdom’s throne, you say

People get ready there’s a train to Jordan
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, it opens doors and borders
You don’t need no ticket, you just get on board

Oh-oh-oh-oh
Mmm-hmm
Oh-oh-oh-oh

Anyone wanna play my guitar?
Do you want to play my…
Listen guy, one more piece of shit out of you and you’re outta here
I don’t care if you paid the front row
(Leave him for one more and he’s fucking outta here)

Do you wanna play my guitar?
Then you just come up here and play my guitar
Come back here now, ya’all

People get ready there’s a train a’coming
It’s picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, if you wanna play rock ‘n’ roll guitar
You don’t need no ticket, you just get on board

People get ready
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, if you wanna play rock ‘n’ roll guitar
You don’t need no ticket, you just get on board

People Get Ready
Osaka Castle Hall
Osaka, Japan

I wish I could speak your language as good as you seem to be able to speak mine, but
These are the three chords
C…A minor…F
3 chords for People Get Ready
That’s all you need
You don’t need to speak Japanese, Italian, or even English
Just those 3 chords

People get ready there’s a train a’coming
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, it opens doors and borders
You don’t need no ticket you just get on board
Yeah

There is still hope for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind just to save his own
God have mercy, I’m a hopeless guitar player
But I know there’s a higher place behind the kingdom’s throne, I say

People get ready there’s a train a’coming
Picking up passengers coast to coast
Faith is the key, it opens doors and borders
You don’t need no ticket, you just get on board, woh

Boogaloo…Mel, Walter, Tony, B. B. King’s orchestra, I can tell ya
Anyone wanna join the band?
Somebody wanna play my guitar?
Wanna play? C’mon
(Spanish phrase)??

Let me just tell ya something, don’t touch our fucking audience
Leave them be, alright? And just leave them
Wanna play guitar?

You’re not supposed to be better than me, alright?

I'll get the Spanish bit shortly... ;)

Edit: Oh well, I've been told by a Spanish speaker it isn't Spanish. Maybe Italian? I don't know any Japanese... :P

thanks  :)
I think the "spanish phrase" is actually japanese... it's not italian for sure since I'm italian  ;)

Ha--I'll be asking you for help with some Italian shows!

That phrase "sounds" to me like:

Olé no pizza
he say corrai

A Bono-spanish-italian nonsense phrase?   ??? He's lamenting no pizza in Osaka? A new soccer cheer? Someone should ask him. I'm sure he remembers... ::)

And the girls start screaming...makes one think he might have said something in Japanese by their reaction...maybe Bono picked up a phrase in some Sake house run by a guy named Juan Valdez Spumoni...

for me it sounds something like:

ole no jita
ite kore

but this is how I imitate the japanese talking...

and after I hear something that sounds like "fuck off". is it possible?
