OK so the CD single is due on August 14, and they will be producing a radio edit of the song for the official single, as well as putting the two dirty south remixes on the commercial single from what I've been told.  There should be an announcement of the contents tomorrow... :-)

I think ZOOO is right in saying that they'll hold back possible b-sides for the new album.
So next to all these remixes I hope there will also be another version containing a few live songs from the coming concerts.

I was only told about one CD single for Europe.  Usually if there is two I've heard about both at once.

From atu2.com:

U2tour.de has posted details of the upcoming "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight" (grrr, shorter titles, please, Bono?) single. The tracklist is as follows:

1. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Radio Edit) 3:48
2. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Single Version) 4:13
3. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Dirty South Club Mix) 7:10
4. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Dirty South Radio Mix) 4:27

U2.com says the single will be released on August 17th and a video will be directed by David O'Reilly.

Matches what my sources told me.

So the single version is probably the album version?

I also wish this title was shorter. Wouldn't "I'll Go Crazy" or "Crazy Tonight" have been sufficient? It ties "Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" for most words, but comes in second for number of characters (including spaces and punctuation) to "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" -- by a single letter. Better luck next time.

So the single version is probably the album version?

Assuming that listing has the right track lengths, probably. But we've just learned a valuable lesson to take reports with a grain of salt until the actual release.

Don't forget the 7 inch vinyl!!! Why else did we get that box??  :D

I'm hoping for at least a basic edit and something besides a remix as a B-side.

Where's the announcement for the UK 7" vinyl? Now that I have this box, I have to fill it up.

I'm spinning vinyl for my kids tonight. I don't think they've ever actually seen a turntable in action. They're dancing around the living room to the COBL 12" right now.  ;D

That's a great vinyl. I think Phones' mix is my all-time favorite U2 remix. ... so far!

To my knowledge, every time U2 has used the term "Single Version", it has been a mix unique from the album version...

But the poetry of the title is ruined that way; see, he'll go crazy if he can't go crazy--it's irony, man, ya dig?

I recently upgraded to digital tv, and the tech they sent in was blown away by the fact that I have a turntable attached to the television sound system.  even more surprised when i told him i only got rid of the 8 track deck a couple of years back...

Being unemployed, the last few months I've spent most of my free time playing vinyl and reading comic books. By law of stereotypes, I think I have to start smoking pot now.

meh.  i read comics and play vinyl all the time.  no need to smoke pot.  now if you were in a band, read comics and played vinyl, then you'd need the pot.
