but someone on the net a while back had this song for downaload on limeiwire im not sure if its an actual song...but i thought id post it here for the guys here to figure out where it might fit in...

I'd have to assume it's a bootleg recording.  There are no officially released live recordings of Wire as far as I know.

According to U2Tours.com, Wire hasn't been performed live since The Unforettable Fire Tour, so I'm going to say bootleg from 1984 or 1985.

Someone with more bootleg expertise may be able to tell you the exact show.

"The Flame and the Fire" is the given name of one of the silver CD pressings of the March 21, 1985 show(Unforgettable Fire Tour, Chicago Pavillion).

As Brad said, there are no official releases of a live version of "Wire", which is track number 3 on the Unforgettable Fire LP...
