« on: March 17, 2006, 04:20:08 PM »
Don't Come Knocking  is opening today in Los Angeles and New York.

What happened to the soundtrack?  I Haven't seen it on any release schedules.

I've googled all the movie sites and watched like 8 clips but none of them featured the song. Maybe it plays when they roll the credits or at the opening?

U2.com had a blurb about how it came together at the last minute but I haven't seen anything about the soundtrack. This is all I've found,

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377800/soundtrack

The DVD of the movie will be available April 21 from Amazon.de
as a single or double dvd edition.

But they don't say anything about the soundtrack.

U2.com had the soundtrack since mid March - probably only for subscribers, though.

I downloaded the track from U2.com.  It's 96 kbps WMA, but it sounds worse than you would expect for that bitrate.

Yeah, that's where I got mine. I haven't come across a better version. I will buy the cd soundtrack just to get a better sounding copy.

I finally got to hear the soundtrack version of this track.  I saw the movie and it plays over the end credits.

It's the same vocal track, but T-Bone Burnette has completely redone the guitar and percussion tracks to better fit with the rest of the movie soundtrack.

I think I actually like the "original" version better, though I must admit that the version T-Bone produced fits better with the movie.

At any rate, I'm really beginning to wonder if we'll ever see either version on CD.

Maybe it's going to be on a U2.com members only CD in the future to entice re-subscription...

Brad-do you remember if they played the complete song at the end? It's available now at Amazon.com for preorder in the States. Might be worth buying for an audio rip if we never get a cd soundtrack. I'm still hoping the U2.com upload is not the only way we get that version.

Yeah, I actually hung around through the credits to see if they played the whole thing.  It's all there.

Sorry, I was out of town for a few days.
Hmmm...they took the link down from this page for the online shop:

http://www.u2tour.de/sideprojects_cat2.html

I'll see what I can find out. PM me if you want the mp3 from the dvd.

Thanks, but I've already bought the DVD.

And thanks for the link.  I never knew that DVD of the Special Olympics opening ceremony existed.
