Where The Shadows Fall
(1/1)
slaneman:
Where The Shadows Fall
Written by Bono, sung by Willie Nelson
The desert rose can take the cold
And I can take the growing old
But I ache tonight
For an abandoned memory
That could have kept me company
In the dying of the light
The ghost town that's inside of me
The spirits that divided me
The dark and its delight
I...I didn't mean to leave you where the shadows fall
I...didn't mean to leave you where the shadows fall
I...didn't mean to leave you at all
True love has the sweetest tooth
Very little use for truth
But it's fearless
The sorrow sweet when it's in rhyme
The broken words, the life of crime
In a summer dress
Tonight I wish I didn't dare
That I didn't see what isn't there
With such clearness
I...I didn't mean to leave you where the shadows fall
I...didn't mean to leave you where the shadows fall
I...didn't mean to leave you at... all

Thanks for providing a link for the video.
I would like to hear a version of that track sung by Bono rather than Willie Nelson.
On a separate note . . . . at 3:44 of that YouTube video, it says Backing Vocals by Bono.

I was just trying to give a little shove to this article from a few months back.

Simon Carmody also co-wrote. If you're a collector it looks like you need to buy the movie which the completists will do if they haven't already...
I'm sure Bono already has made some demo versions he's done with these lyrics as he worked them out which might see the light (yeah-sure) at some future time. But this is for Willie.
Anam:
I like it. Cheers for the lyrics. 8)
There is still no sign of the blu-ray unfortunately.
