Bono and Eugene Peterson in conversation
« on: April 26, 2016, 11:05:37 AM »
Don't want to raise any religious issues for anyone, but for those interested, here's a 20+ minute film featuring Bono and Eugene Peterson, a biblical scholar who published a modern translation of The Bible called The Message. If you heard the intro to Streets during the Vertigo Tour, you've heard a passage from it.

I swear Bono was continually referencing Aaron when he spoke of 'the Sams'

...just watched this, again.  So good!  I appreciate the demeanor of both men, both in general, and toward one another.

I most appreciate Bono talking about writing honest lyrics as opposed to whitewashed ones - one of, if not the biggest of reasons why I was initially attracted to U2, and remain as such.

Thanks, Don!
