Spanish Box Set.
« on: September 28, 2015, 11:55:42 AM »
So...

El Pais, a news outlet in Spain, is teaming up with Universal to launch a box set of U2 releases.  They are releasing one item each week for 18 weeks, and I'm told each will cost about 10 Euro in total.  The first release is October 4th, and is the Joshua Tree and includes a box to hold all the releases.

Each week they release another.  First four weeks are "The Joshua Tree", "Achtung Baby", "Songs of Innocence" and "Rattle and Hum".

Each release will be in a digipack format, and not in jewel cases.  The whole thing is being called "The Kiosk Collection".

Other releases include: "The Unforgettable Fire", "War", "Boy", "Zooropa", "All That You Can't Leave Behind", "October", "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb", "Under a Blood Red Sky", "Pop", and "No Line on the Horizon".  DVDs in the collection include: "360 from the Rose Bowl", "Go Home: Live from Slane 2001", "Zoo TV Live from Sydney" and "Under a Blood Red Sky".

A commercial for this collection can be found here courtesy of U2 Spain:

An Italian newspaper did this with Peter Gabriel a few years ago. No unique content, but everything came in jewel cases that had unique artwork at the time. It also included a book with exclusive interview, discgraphy, etc. all in Italian.

Fantastic!! What's the packaging of the CD like? Is there a booklet? Same "Joshua Tree" black and gold label on the CD face?

My Joshua Tree + Box just arrived  ;D

That a nice reissue (made me think of my Placebo "Hut Recording" box)
=>

The idea is the same... a box with all digipack records...

Come back to U2
CD is the 2007 remaster but reissue. (=> http://htaaac.free.fr/the-joshua-tree-the-joshua-tree-e-u-cd-5364018.html )
E.U pressing made in Germany, spanish copyright on CD artwork.
Booklet is the remaster one too.

For the box, no catalog, no UPC, nothing, it's glossy and solid (=> http://htaaac.free.fr/others-the-kiosk-collection-spanish-box.html )

I love the design of the sleeves so far. The Joshua Tree with the huge gatefold photo looks way better than the version that came in the 20th anniversary box:

I'm probably going to regret being a cheapskate and not getting all of these.  :(

The box is quite sturdy.  The CDs are nicely done.  I'm happy so far. :)  Only downside?  Waiting until January to have the full set.
