Another Time, Another Place, all songs
« on: August 05, 2015, 08:10:28 PM »
The Ocean
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

A picture in grey
Dorian Gray
Just me by the sea

And I I felt like a star
I felt the world could go far
If they listened to what I said
Shh

Washes my feet, oh-oh
Splashes the sole of my shoes

11 O’Clock Tick Tock
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

It’s cold outside, it gets so hot in here
Cos the boys and girls collide
To the music in my ear
I hear the children crying / Ah-oh
And I know it’s time to go / Ah-oh
I hear the children crying / Ah-oh
Take me home / Ah-oh

A painted face and I know we haven’t long
We thought that we had the answers
It was the questions we had wrong
I hear the children crying / Ah-oh
And I know it’s time to go / Ah-oh
I hear the children crying / Ah-oh
Take me home / Ah-oh

Same song sad song
Same song sad song

….la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, la-la-la
La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, la-la

Same song sad song
Same song sad song

Call out your name
Call out your name
Call out your name
Call out, you better call out
Call out

Thank you

I Will Follow
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

Reach out
Once again
This is about a mothers love
How do you feel about that?

I was on the inside
When you say you'd sell me a mirror
I was looking at myself
I was blind, I could not see, oh

A boy tries hard to be a man
His mother take’s him by his hand
If he stops to think
He starts to cry, oh why

If you walk away, walk away
I walk away, walk away
I will follow
If you walk away, walk away
Walk away, walk away
I will follow
I will follow!

I was on the outside
When they tore the four walls down
I was looking through the window
I was lost, I am found

Walk away, walk away
Walk away, walk away
I will follow
If you walk away, walk away
Walk away, walk away
I will follow

Your eyes make a circle
I see you
Your eyes
Your eyes
Your… your eyes...

If you walk away, walk away
I walk away, walk away
I will follow
If you walk away, walk away
I walk away, walk away
I will follow

I will follow
I will follow
I will follow
I will follow

An Cat Dubh / Into The heart
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

I tried to
The stage is only 4 foot high
So am I

Say goodnight
She waits for me to put out the light
And when I'm still
She waits to break my will

Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho, oh-ho-ho / Oh...
Yo-ho-ho-ho-a-ho-ho /Oh...
Yes and I know the truth about you / Oh...
She-cat

And in the daylight
A blackbird makes a violent sight
And when she is done
She sleeps beside the one

Wo-oh-oh-ho-ho, oh-ho-ho / Oh...
Wo-oh-oh-ho-ho, oh-ho-ho / Oh...
Yes and I know the truth about you / Oh...
She-cat

She fanned the flames
And the world on fire
Put on fire

Wo-oh-oh-ho-ho-oh-ho-ho / Oh...
Wo-oh-oh-ho-ho-ho-ho / Oh...
Wo-oh-oh-ho-ho-oh-ho-ho / Oh...
Yes and I know the truth about you / Oh...

Into the heart
Of a child
I stay awhile
But I can go back

Into the heart
Of a child
I can smile
I can find my truth

Into the heart
Into the heart of a child
Stay there
I can go back

Into the heart
To the heart of a child
Yo-ho-ho-ho...
Into the heart

These are the Harlesden boys

A Day Without Me
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

Started a landslide in my ego
Look from the outside to a world I left behind
I’m dreaming, you’re awake
If I was sleeping, what’s at stake?
A day without me

Whatever the feelings I keep feeling
What are the feelings you left behind?

A day without me

Started a landslide on my ego
Look for the outside to the world I left behind
In the world I left behind
Wipe their eyes and then let go
In the world I left behind
Shed a tear and they go home...ho-home

Oh, oh-oh-oh
Bo-bo
Bo-bo-bo
Oh, Bo-bo-bo
Bo-bo, bo-bo-bo

Hey

The Electric Co.
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

(Let's go where you don't know)

Boy, stupid boy
Don't sit at the table until you're able to
Toy, broken toy
You shout and shout, you're inside out

If you don't know
Electric Co. / Electric Co.
If you don't know / Electric Co.
Take you to Electric Co.

There he goes again

Red, running red
If you play for real, a toy can feel
A hole in your head
You go in shock, and you’re spoon fed

If you don't know
Electric Co. / Electric Co.
If you don't know / Electric Co.
Take you to Electric Co.
Oy

One...two...six...four..five

But if you don't know
Electric Co. / Electric Co.
If you don't know / Electric Co.
Electric Co.
If you don't know
The Electric Co. / Electric Co.
If you don't know / Electric Co
Electric Co....

I see 'em
Go
To the top of the world
But I can't find my way home

Stories For Boys
The Marquee Club
London,  England
1980-09-29

You can see I'm uh fallen for ya
I mean for your enjoyment
I bang my head against the wall
?
I enjoy it
I enjoy you
Yeah, I enjoy that

One, two, three, four

There’s a place I go when I am far away
There’s a TV show and I can play
Sometimes when a hero takes me
Sometimes I don’t let go
Hello, hello

There’s a picture book with coloured photographs
There’s a comic strip that makes me laugh
Sometimes away he takes me
Sometimes I can't let go
Hello, hello

Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys

Ooo, ooo-ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo-ooo, ooo-ooo-ooo
Ooo-ooo-ooo

There’s a place I go and it’s a part of me
There’s a radio and I will go
Sometimes when a hero takes me
Sometimes I can't let go
Hello, hello

Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys / Ah-ah-ah-oh
Stories for boys

Thank you

Boy-Girl
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

The Joker is the best card

Boys and girls

Boy-girl
Boy-girl
Boy meets a girl
Boy-girl

I’m finding out
I'm finding out the things that I've been talking about
I'm finding all the things that I've been missing out
I'm finding all the the things that please my mind
Sometimes I fall behind

You and I
We live on the big ship and time goes by
You make up and I believe a lady's lie
Your skin is colored strawberries and cream
Sometimes I scream

Boy-girl
Boy-girl
When a boy meets a girl
Boy-girl

We go out
A picture, or a disco, or a roundabout
I walk you home, I hold you there you're giving out
I open doors so I can shut your face
Know your place

Boy-girl
Boy-girl
Boy meets a girl
Boy-girl

Up and down and all around
Hey-hey

Boy-girl
Boy-girl
Boy meets a girl
Boy-girl
Boy-girl
Boy meets a girl
Boy-girl
Boy-girl
When a boy meets, when a boy meets
When a boy meets… girl

Out Of Control
The Marquee Club
London, England
1980-09-29

Da-da-da
Try it
I'm not your auntie now trust me
Do it tonight then

This is our last one tonight

Monday morning
18 years of dawning
I say how long?
Say how long?

It was one dull dawning
I woke the world with bawling
I was so sad
They were so glad

I had a feeling it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
I was of the opinion it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
Ooo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Boys and girls
Go to school and girls
They make children
Not like this one

I had a feeling it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
I was of the opinion it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
Ooo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

I had a feeling it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
I was of the opinion it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
Ooo-ay-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh...

Out of control?
Out of control?
Out of control
Out of control?
Out of control?
Out of control

I fought fate
There's blood at the garden gate
The man said childhood
It's in his childhood

One day I'll die
The choice will not be mine
Will it be too late? / Too late
You can't fight fate

I had a feeling it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
I was of the opinion it was out of control / Oh-oh-oh
Ooo-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh

Good night
Thank you, good night
God bless you

Yep. So corrected. Nice catch.

'Harlesden' is on the back of an inner sleeve but I listened first and tried to transcribe what he actually said so I didn't catch the proper spelling. Oops.

I'm always glad to get feedback!

Joker is the best part?  Or maybe Joker is the best card?  I'm not sure.  :)

I do listen and read along - the hours you spend transcribing are noticed.  PS.  I added all of these to the new site.  We're working on getting that going soon.  :)

'best card'---  another good catch, that makes sense    ;D

What's funny is I always heard 'best part' and never questioned that

Edge's playing on that song is amazing. So is the drumming.

I love this album.  It's really making me happy to hear these songs again.  I had such a love affair with "Boy" for so many years.
