non U2 song, Thomas Feiner's Mesmerene
« on: December 19, 2011, 07:54:41 PM »
current lyrics up @ http://brokensky.net/songs/lyric/mesmerene I'm really just concerned with the first verse though:

I've never been happy with the first verse:

Wade, in the ocean of forgettable things
Are we just traveling in time?
We, from wherever we’d bailed out
Landed here

Alternate lines I hear:

Where, in the ocean of forgettable (ungettable?) things
We're in the ocean, of forgettable (ungettable?) things

We're, from wherever we’d bailed out

Wave in the ocean
Of ungettable things
Are we just traveling in time?

We've, from wherever      ----(sounds like 'frime' wherever
We’d bailed out
Landed here

Quantum certainty 50%

Heh on the frime. I was always stuck between fly and from. I slowed it down and heard a r in the first word.  Will go back again.

well directly from the artist it's supposed to be:

We, in the ocean of forgettable things
Are we just traveling in time?
We, from wherever
We bailed out
Landed here

His diction gets a bit weird at times, for example on http://thomasfeiner.bandcamp.com/ "brand me love" sounds like loove

And what is he singing ~3:50?

And I climb
And I fly
Coming around
And may the sun, may it...
The sun sets on everyone

And I climb
And I fall
Climbing around
Under the sun, may
The sun sets on everyone

I think that may be the most powerful 'round' I've heard spoken/sung. ^^

I hear 'fly'

Don't hear 'it' after 'may'

This is pretty dark music. The uncertain trumpet sound is a nice touch.

There's kind of an ih after may that might have been meant to be it, but I agree it's not really there.

What about under in line 4 and line 3?

and yeah, it's pretty dark. :) nice video work @ http://www.thomasfeiner.com/multimedia/video_1.html "all that numbs you" is actually more positive due to the video than the lyrics might imagine, for now is still brutal, and siren song is just interesting. tho, blargh, the video version of siren songs doesn't include the best little lyric bit at the end:

So let me drown in those precious arms
With all my untouchabilities washed away
Let me for once be lost for a reason
Let it be lost, for once

maybe it's the Swedish accent-

'cloiming 'round'...'could be climbing or coming to me

'under the sun' seems right
