wild irish rose?
« on: March 17, 2008, 07:18:31 PM »
First off, things look a bit different in here.  I like the new look.

Can someone help me out with some info on Wild Irish Rose?  I heard about it on a Jeopardy question.  From this site, I found that it was part of a BBC show, but has it ever been released on anything in any way.  It sounds so familiar... and no I never drank the stuff in HS or college.  ;D

I preferred Mad Dog 20/20... well actually I didn't, but at that time the cliche "beggers can't be choosers" was very appropriate.

Fun aside, still looking for some answers to my question.  ???

There was never an official release of this song from 1989. The "Bringing it all back home"-Soundtrack (that was the name of the TV broadcast, aka Sound and Vision - the influence of irish music) contains only "Bucks of Oranmore" under participation of Adam and "April 3rd" with Edge. You will find "Wild Irish Rose" only on Boots, like "Heart beat". The TV scene is part of the Boot-DVD "ANGELS IN DEVIL SHOES".

Cheers

I assume the Angels in Devils Shoes is the one mentioned here:

So that isn't something I can easily buy then?

I also don't see Heartbeat in the "set-list."  Should that be on there, or is "Heartbeat" just another bootleg that it is available on?  Sorry, feeling a bit dense this AM.

(In college that is.  Currently I'm drinking La Crema Pinot Noir.)

Odd.  I thought it had a official release.  After looking on here it seems I was wrong.  After searching my harddrive I managed to find a folder called "unknowns".  In it I have a m4a file it is the Wild Irish Rose runtime 4:50, there isn't any talking during the song, just singing.  I have the Bono solo projects and this isnt' the same version.
