I found this image of bono and bruce springsteen on someones blog talking about his/her dreams of u2.

Is this bono and bruce?

just seems quite old and the guy on the left doesnt look anything like bono even from the early 1980s or so

Yep--backstage at Hammersmith Palais in London Bruce stopped by the U2 dresssing room to chat. Also Pete Townshend.

see U2 by U2 p112-113 for another pic from that occasion and the bands remarks about the meeting. Obviously then there were at least 2 pics that survived. The one in the book shows Adam's face but it's the exact same time and place.
