Title: PopMart-inspired tour, 20 years later?
Post by: George on November 26, 2017, 08:36:37 AM
A few weeks ago I was at a show reliving the PopMart tour from 20 years part.  The band entered the arena as boxers, and the theme of the tour was consumerism/commercialism.

It was Arcade Fire's Everything Now tour.  Did anyone else catch a show / notice the similarity?  Thoughts?

Yeah, I saw Arcade Fire twice on The EN tour, they put on a hell of a show

The entrance and the stage a bit of nod to U2 Pop Mart, the consumer product advertisement feel of the screens, a bit of a nod to ZOOTV and then playing "in the round", a bit of a nod to 360, but they are a unique band and played great shows both times I saw them, definitely one of my favorite bands, a lot of energy, light show was very cool, the band was all over the place, not a bad view from anywhere
