why? I think all new tv/player read both pal and ntsc format... at least I never had problem with ntsc (I am in pal zone) even with old tv or player...

Any north american PC with a DVD player can play PAL as well as NTSF. (Good thing to include when selling PAL DVD singles online).

If it's region free I just may order one. I have a DVD player that can convert PAL to NTSC, but my TV will not accept a PAL signal.

Yeah, obviously I don't know what it stands for or else I would've gotten the letters right.
We could always just pretend it was a typo -- the letters are next to each other.
NTSC: "Next Time, Spell Check."
