Title: Kingdom snippet
Post by: slaneman on July 01, 2009, 10:30:41 PM
That song on the 360 Tour preview video which was used for the show opener at Barcelona yesterday is called "Kingdom" on that night's setlist. There's been a couple slightly wrong transcriptions--here's a better version (I think)

Kingdom (Snippet)

Soul (repeats)

Sing yourself on down the street
Sing yourself right off your feet
Sing yourself away from victory and from defeat

Sing yourself with fife and drum
Sing yourself to overcome
The thought that someone’s lost and someone else has won

Who wrote it and whether or not it will be on the forthcoming "Songs of Ascent" album still seems a mystery but I'm sure someone will drop a dime soon.

There was a debate on the Interference forum over whether this was a new U2 song or a new Gavin Friday song.  A supposed friend of Gavin's chimed in and said that Gavin Friday had confirmed that the song was NOT by him.  So... maybe it is indeed a track from Songs of Ascent?  :)

Those aren't mutually exclusive qualities.  :P
