my version of the lyrics:
I like to smile
But I like to most after you
I like the time
But I can't feel this without you
But this song
The heart is in my place
I sing this song
But-but this song
Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh
If I could sigh
I'd tell the world I felt with you
I'd like the time
I like the feeling when I feel you in my arms
I take you in my hand
I let you go
Jump up beside me
Jump up beside me
Love
I have my good time
Sing it
Sing my, sing my song
You sing that same old song of love
Smile
Though your heart breaks in two
Touch me
When will I be with you?
I like good times
But I can feel it's going wrong
You sing that same old song
And I think it's time we get it right
Sing it out
Sing it out
Sing this same old song
If I could swim
I'd swim in circles
And I could drown
I, I'd drown with you
If I had enough of my life
I'd give in
If I had enough of you
I'd wanna drown
I like to try (my, oh my)
I like to make a rhyme (my, oh my)
I like to walk (my, oh my)
I like to beat myself up
On mistakes

note on the above: after reading the 'official' lyrics on U2.com (wherever they came from) and listening to this song, I don't think this was a very good 'take' vocally... sounds good, but sometimes I think ol' Bono got tanglefooted on the lyrics...
for instance the second line: "But I like to most after you" ok, so I like to SMILE most after YOU smile, whatever.. anyhow, this is my best translation of the Bongolese..

Heh, yeah. There was a guy who ran a site that just focused on Treasure and Pete the Chop... we both influenced each other a bit but also stuck to our own interps. Like you said this is a crazy song to try and figure out, nonsense lyrics and bad articulation. The live version of Pete the Chop even worse.
