I know there was a page at one time on this site that explained what Bono was talking about during some of the VHS and DVD releases.... specifically, who is Jason MacAteer (example, I know who he is) and stuff like that. I can't seem to find it. Was that part of the lyrics section?
Anyway, what is Bono talking about when he says "ring those bells... Edge" during the Boston DVD? I have seen that referenced several times since then.

the info backgrounders are/was part of the lyrics section, yes.
ring those bells refers to the harmonics that Edge plays during that part of the song.

Thanks, I knew it had something to do with what he was playing, but I wonder why Bono refers to them as "bells".
-
Because harmonics have a very "ringing sound" unlike normal guitar tones. You can hear them in the beginning of the last verse of UTEOTW, throughout NYD, etc.

thanks. I will listen more carefully next time. I appreciate the response :)
