Recently in a record store, I’ve found an item- Rattle and Hum, japan edition on 2 cd laserdisc, packed in 12 inch sleeve. It is written CIC Video, barcode T498 102 33738 4, catalogue PD32228.
I can’t find any information on it. Can you help me to know if it's just a fake or not ?
Regards
Pawel

That one sounds legit to me. The Japanese laser disc was split across two discs, and that the bar code that i have in my files for that release - even the numbers are matched up. You should also see a catalog number SM047-3373 on the back in the bottom left hand corner, and also on the OBI strip if it's still present on the backside at the top. We call it by that number in the discography at http://www.u2wanderer.org/disco/vid003.html - It was pressed by CIC Video which is what throws most people.

There were a number of releases in Japan. So not all of them looked the same. If you look at the fifth photo in the following link you will see in the bottom left corner the PD32228 number.
I think the one you found is this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JAPAN-LD-U2-RATTLE-AND-HUM-LASER-DISC-EX-BONO-EDGE-THE-BEATLES-/371085836081?pt=US_Laserdisc&hash=item5666707f31
The one pictured in the auction certainly is legitimate.

Actually bought it today for about 18 euro, but it's a double sided 1 - 12 inch disc, not 2 discs set.
I hope it's still legit ;)
And now, how can i play it ?:)
