Anyone see these CDs and DVDs up for presale yet.  I was happy with HMV last time, but they don't have it up yet.

hmmm... thanks for the link.  I am hoping HMV offers a package discount like last time.  I wonder what is different for this Japanese version.  Doesn't appear to have any b-sides.

The DVD doesn't have any tracklisting info either - I guess cdjapan doesn't know the details yet.

One nice thing for those importing DVDs into the states is that Japanese DVDs are NTSC instead of PAL, so if you have a region-free standalone player with your TV they should play fine.

I just use my notebook most of the time, and maybe there are standalone players that will convert PAL discs into a NTSC signal, no idea.  But it is still a perk I guess.

Yeah, I usually just use my notebook too.  Unfortunately I do not have a region free standalone DVD player :(

Just for those who may care, HMV.CO.UK now has them for preorder.  No package deal like last time though... at least not that I saw.

Thanks for the reminder. Just preordered. And you're right. You have to buy them individually.

I would give it a few more days.  I have preordered from HMV in the past only to have them turn around and offer a package deal a few days later.

Of course, you can always cancel and re-order...

Thanks for that tip! I'll keep checking.

hmmm...

http://www.jointhelist.com/u2/u2_aboy.htm

It says on that form that HMV will have all three for 6 pounds.  But, it isn't listed on the site as such.

That seems to imply that the discount is only available for in-store purchases, but who knows?

Yes, I think you are right, but then it has the web-site listed right next to it.  I sent an email to HMV, I will post what I hear back.

I paid 6.77 UK Pounds for all three individually. Shipping 4.30
At 1.8 dollars to pound that's 19.92 dollars. That seems more than fair considering I paid 12.99$ for the COBL single on Amazon. Now THAT was a bit steep.

hmm... my HMV order was around 8 pounds.  No response from HMV yet.  I know it is only around 4 dollars (difference with the package deal), but if I can save $ I will try to do it.

idealcopy.com now has all three discs for pre-order, if you prefer to order from a US dealer.

They also list the full tracklist for both CDs, and one of the b-sides is "She's A Mystery To Me" from the Brooklyn Bridge gig, making this the first official release of this song for U2.

@Brad - very nice catch.  I'll put up a plug on the main page.

You're a one man U2 release info army. ;)

@jimbo - Well, you can consider this your honorary thread.... "been coming around here for months, acting like he owns like the place." :p

^^LOL

Anyway, the official word from HMV is that it is a instore only package deal.  Oh well...

EDIT: Just checked the site and now they have this up:
http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=421791

but it still doesn't seem right.  it has them up for 2.97 pounds. strange

Does anyone know if there will be a 3" German single this time too, and if, what will the tracks be?
