Title: Bono singing Goldeneye theme

Wow.  MacPhisto singing over a (Edge?) 100% programmed backing track.  More lovely 90's style U2.

Okay, how this largely flew under the radar is beyond me.  Is there any info at all on how this came to surface after all this time?

A promo CD someone was sitting on for 10 years?  A stolen tape?  Time travel?

Just seems like NOW is a very odd time to leak it to the world, what with all the other new U2 material floating about.

The comments in the U2log entry where the song was posted wonder aloud where it came from, but no answer is ever given.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

^^ agreed.  It is very interesting, but more details would be nice.

Always late to the wedding but I had filed this away as soon as U2log posted that link and stashed it in my Unreleased and Rare folder during an orgy of trying to download everything from everywhere at once. Saw your post and went back and listened to it.  Gaaak!
Also find it disturbing how these things appear from the blue. Would love to know whence it comes. 1st listen was wondering who the singer was. Shirley Bassey, then Bowie, then oh yeh the tenor who wants to be a soprano. And my WM player ambience displays a golden yellow tunnel effect like you see at the opening of Bond movies. Now that's spooky.

Sorry to have missed this... That's the pain with being a nomad.

Heh, nomad.  If you moved up a rank on the forum it wouldn't change anything though.

If you still don't have it drop me a PM.
