Title: Japanese Catalog Reissues
Post by: morgan1098 on October 04, 2006, 12:57:23 PM
Also, does anyone know what the deal is with reissuing the entire U2 catalog on November 14th?  According to CDuniverse.com, they're all one-disc sets with a list price of 35.99.  Are these remastered?  Are they in LP-style packaging like the Japanese reissues?  I can't find any concrete information.  Here's the link (http://www.cduniverse.com/sresult.asp?style=music&HT_SEARCH=XARTIST&cart=404422555&HT_SEARCH_INFO=U2&HT_Search_Name=U2&altsearch=yes) at cduniverse (scroll down to "imports" and then continue on to page 2).  They recently updated these to say they originated from Japan, so maybe they're just another round of LP-style reissues.

Amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000ECY2ZS/ref=pd_rvi_gw_1/202-7686520-3646254?ie=UTF8) lists them as "Limited reissues," although you can't even order them yet.

Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Zooropa-U2/dp/B000J234RA/sr=1-7/qid=1159984571/ref=sr_1_7/102-8536903-3989718?ie=UTF8&s=music) lists them as "imports."

Hmmm...

A lot of U2's back catalog was reissued in Japan in 2004, but they were neither remasters nor picture sleeves.  Interesting that they're being re-reissued so soon.

If there are bonus tracks, I can see this costing me a great deal of money.
