This might be a good time to ask what software you guys prefer for capturing streaming audio... :)
-
Jaksta for Mac and Replay Media Catcher for PC.
In this case all I needed was Google Chrome, however.

tell us more Brad, an extension? do tell...
-
just an FYI - I split this into it's own topic for now. I'd prefer to keep the other one focused on the actual media posted at u2.com and tracking it. Feel free to discuss what you use here :)
I have a copy of Replay Media Catcher myself. Works well in most instances.

Chrome Procedure (on a Mac)
1. Load the page with the media you want to download.
2. Ctrl-Click and select Inspect Element from the pop-up menu. A new frame should open at the bottom of the browser.
3. Click on the Network tab.
4. Reload the page
5. Start streaming the media
6. Look for an item in the list with a Size Content that seems about right for an MP3, in this case 8.4 MB
7. Double-Click on the link in the Name Path column. The media should start playing in a new tab in your browser.
8. Ctrl-Click on the media player in the new tab and select Save As from the pop-up menu.
