OTHER NOTES
The Slane 2001 DVD is something of an anomoly.  It is the first time that U2 has released two videos from the same tour.  But a fan petition helped to keep dreams of Slane alive.

Slane Castle is a venue in Ireland which holds a concert each summer.  U2 performed there as an opening act in 1981, when they were just getting their start.  In 2001, they returned to headline the show for the first time ever.  The tickets proved to be so popular that a second Slane concert was added, and this is the concert which is documented on this video presentation.

The DVD was released in two formats around the world.  Both contain the same content on the DVD itself.  The only difference between the two was packaging.  One version was released in a cardboard digipack DVD style case.  The booklet enclosed within is slightly larger than that contained in the other version, and it contains one additional photo not contained in the second version.  This digipack version is a limited edition.

The second version was released in a regular CD jewel case at a lower price point.  Many have reported finding this in the audio section of their local music store instead of among the videos.  It appears that some have confused this with an audio CD as it is not your typical DVD packaging.

The DVD contains the Unforgettable Fire documentary originally released in 1985 on home video.  This documentary features information on the recording of the album, which was done at Slane in 1984.  Information on the previous home video release can be found here.
