Although labelled by many as a remix of "Stories for Boys"
the track featured on this recording is more of an early recording of the
song. It is very close to the version of the song from the Three
single. The version on "Just for Kicks" has much louder drums, and
the song doesn't fade in, and also has a slightly longer ending.
The compilation was released on vinyl only, and featured tracks from
twelve different Dublin bands. None are around today save for U2. The compilation
was released around the same time as Three,
making it one of U2's earliest releases. The bands featured on this
compilation were: U2, The Teen Commandments, The Atrix, Berlin, D.C. Nien,
Jaroc, The New Versions, The Resistors, Rocky De Valera, Sacre Bleu, Square
Meal, and Zebra.
The compilation also features "Something's Better Than Nothing" by the
band, The Teen Commandments. This track features the Edge on guitar.
It is the earliest recorded collaboration by a member of U2 with another
act. |
