OTHER NOTES |
In late 2003, Uncut magazine did a cover story about The
Joshua Tree album. The article included information about the album,
insights in various aspects of the album, as well as several previously
unpublished photos from the Joshua Tree album shoot, taken by Anton Corbijn.
Accompanying the magazine is a free CD titled "In God's Country: The
Music that Inspired The Joshua Tree". This CD was made up of artists
that had been mentioned by Bono as having an influence on the recording
of The Joshua Tree, as well as several other artists in the same vein of
music. There are no U2 recordings on the CD, but the CD itself is
a great collection of songs, and you can hear how some of these songs influenced
The Joshua Tree, but moreso how these investigations into American music
would lead to Rattle and Hum.
The magazine was released in September 2003 in the UK where it was published.
It began showing up as an import in North America in late September / early
October. The CD was not sold separately from the magazine. |
