In 2004 Warner Brothers launched a new cartoon version of
Batman on Saturday morning television. The show took Batman back
to his roots and was a darker, moodier cartoon than seen previously.
The Edge was approached to contribute an instrumental piece for the cartoon's
opening theme. The piece of music is a complex layered piece with
many sound effects mixed in, but is unmistakably the Edge. It fit
the feel of the cartoon very well.
In 2005 this theme song was replaced with a new song, which is not related
to U2 in any way.
Along with being featured on the show, the title track was available
for download on the Warner Brothers Kids site in mp3 format. The
direct link to this site where this song is available for official download
is http://kidswb.warnerbros.com/web/stuff/stuff.jsp.
Go to the "Printables and Downloads" section on the front page and scroll
down to the section for "The Batman" to find this original file.
If you go to the page for the actual show the new version of the theme
(non-U2) is what you will find instead.
Although not released with any cover image, the same website which features
the download features the above image as wallpaper for download.
It has been resized for presentation here to look more like a CD cover
by adding a black bar at the top and extending the one at the bottom of
the image. |
